Just bought the fellas a sweetcorn with the green leaves still on (can't remember proper name!) how much of that can they eat? Can I stick the while thing in & let them figure out how to get thru it?

Yes, they can eat all parts of a fresh cob.

It's not on sale up here yet but last year I gave one husk complete with leaves to 4 piggies & they would get it down to the spine in less that a day. I'm looking forward to getting some in the next week or so.

I just throw them in leaves and all lasted about an hour with mine before it was a bare husk :))

i cut mine into chunks and give each pig a piece with their other veggies. i don't like to give too much of it in case there is too much sugar for them. they rummage through their dishes to find the sweetcorn before anything else:)).

Is there a lot if sugar in it? I'm just gonna clean mine then give them it they've never had husks before! I doubt it'll last long!

It's great to see them eat it. Some like the outer leaves best & others like the corn but it's a joint effort.

You must be a magician i can never even some close to cutting up my sweet corn ! I just make a mess !

I find my pigs love sweet corn but i always by the packs of 4 smaller portions as i’m worried a whole one might be a bit too much for them, but it’s usually gone in a very short amount of time right to the bone !

I chop baby corn for them and sometimes chop large cobs in two for the pairs but the trios get a whole husk, my other half chops them for me I can't get halfway through :))

i use my bread knife and saw my way through them:)). some are easier than others to cut through

I never thought of using a bread knife i’ll have to try that next time ;) i just get a big butchers knife and stab at it until i give up and get frustrated then through a mangled looking sweetcorn into the piggy cage :’)

I usually put a whole cob in but they've never had husks before. They're very confused. I've split it for them so they can see what's inside but they're still confused... And Billy ended up taking a nap on it! Grr...

Rodney too preoccupied with the dill I got him from his favourite shop today....

Billy thought it made a comfy pillow to get a chookie leg out on....

Clearly not the sharpest tools in the box! Hahaha

I haven't tried mine with the whole ones with the husk, but they've had just the ordinary cobs. I usually cut mine in half with a bread knife. I just slice through the corn and then snap the middle bit with my hands. :)

Cute pics of Billy & Rodney. x)
