Ok so...new pig Misty, who has been here about 24 hours has a swelling in her ear. What the heck is this!? We're taking her down the vets in the morning, but just wondering if there is anything I can do in the meantime. I think she's caught it scratching. Being just a baby her nails were so, so sharp so I took the tips off in case it was that. You can see a tiny scab on the picture of the inside of the ear.

Good that you have her seen. That is something that needs to be checked by a vet.

So it turned out to be a continuous abscess, he gently squeezed out all the pus and I'm to repeat every day for a week or so and it should heal up by itself, if not we go back and see whats next. Likely she was bitten by a sibling when smaller apparently!

Glad it was something small but yikes don’t you just cringe at the pus squeezing? I know I do but it has to be done :vom:

Yeah..I'm not looking forward to it :xd: Luckily though there was no smell to it at all, so it could be worse lol!
