I use newspaper on the bottom and then use vetbed, a thick fleece then a thin fleece on top (held in place by pegs), which is changed every 3 days, the hay trays are changed every day and poop is picked up twice a day

:)

That's a good set up you've got for them. We've got our piggies on fleece and it's so much cosier for them. Especially with all this horrible weather we've been getting.

That is the same set up i used to have in my nero 4 cage. My pigs loved the litter tray and always used to poop and pee in it. :)

How do you train them to go in the litter box? I just set one up today, and the boys pooed all over their cage. They certainly don't seem to understand the purpose of the litter box.

neoma, not sure you can train piggies to go in the litter tray, mine just tend to poo/pee anywhere including when they come out to play! :))

i forgot to add that i cover up the cages with fleeces at nightime, as my house has single glazed windows and storage heaters brrrrrr

Thank you, Pigmad. :rose

We have been covering our boy's cage with a sheet at night, just like we do for our birds. A fleece is a better idea!
