Swollen anus - female GP

Hi there. I will be seeing a vet about this problem, but wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts.

Noticed one of our piggies licking another's bottom lots. When i inspected the piggy who was being licked, the tissue around her anus looks swollen. It is crusty and brown / bleeding in places. It has discharge and looks infected.

Any idea what might cause this?

Could be many things and without a hands on diagnosis from a vet, we are only guessing.
She really does need to be seen by a vet quickly though, this isn’t normal and is likely to be painful.
Is she eating properly? Is her weight stable? If not, then you need to step in and syringe feed her
And is she passing poops and urine properly? If not, then it’s an emergency situation

Yes I agree a vet check is needed here, this could be anything telated to a gut infection, reproductive tract infection, urinary tract infection... only a hands on vet check can say for sure!
 
Thanks guys. Upon observation, she could wee and poo ok. Phoned emergency vet and they advused seeing them this morning. Just said it is likely to be an external skin infection. Didnt identify cause.
 
Hope it all goes well at the vets with your little lady and she feels better soon :)
