My 5 year old male guinea pig appears to have a swollen bottom... he's eating normally... any ideas? He is not neutered..

Please have him vet checked for impaction and to make sure that the initial build-up of poos is not causing an infection in the anal sac.

Sadly this is not uncommon in older boars and needs to be cleared out on a regular basis as it is caused by weakening muscles. It can be alleviated with a strict and very regular diet in the early stages, but it is not a curable, only a manageable issue. Impaction care can range from requiring a clear out of the sac every two days to needing to perform this service a couple of times a day in severe cases.

It does look like an impaction, I clean out Colin's twice a day. Sometimes there is barely anything there other times a bit more but easy to deal with.
