Swollen eye

I have just got two little ones and yesterday I noticed one of the eyes was swollen it was after the vets closed so felt terrible stayed up all night with it, it’s eating fine and drinking any advice would be much appreciated I don’t know if I should ring the store or what have only had him for two weeks

Please see a decent vet as soon as you can (eye injuries can deteriorate very quickly) and present the vet bill to the store together with your sales receipt. The store will have to cover any vet cost that arise from selling damaged wares; it comes under customer rights.

PLEASE DO NOT surrender your piggy to a pet shop that requires you to sell the piggy back and repurchase in case it is healed. You lose all your customer rights, the rights to your piggy and have no control over whether your piggy is treated properly or not to allow the shop to opt out of expensive and adequate treatment and not be held responsible for it.
Not to mention that you rip up a freshly bonded pair at a time when they rely on company of their own kind even more desperately than they do as adults.

The vets open at 10 today but it’s inside the store that I got it from so hope they are not funny hopefully he will just need some drops I don’t want to give him back or get refunded I just want him to be ok, I was thinking should I take the both of them in for a health check when I go so that I know my other piggy is ok it’s got me worried sick

All the best! We have come across some recently joined new US members that prove that some smaller chains or private pet shops are still up to the old trick. If there is an instore vet, this practice is usually not the case.

Got him checked out he had got hay in his eye as he likes to burrow in it , has eye drops and pain medication and seems much happier already, cost me more as it’s a out of hours vet but so worth it he would of lost his eye if I had of left it. Safe to say I have now placed all hay in the hay rack even though he is already trying to pull it out again
