Hi!

It may be a sprain or a small bone broken in her foot if there is no sign of infection. Leg and foot injuries and sprains in lively youngsters are not at all rare; all it takes a bad landing after a jump.

Good that you are seeing a vet; we can only guess. If she is still able to put weight on her foot/leg, the problem is not serious.

Hi everyone sorry I’ve literally just got back from the vets and my phone died not long after posting this thread, they have given her metacam 0,2 a day for a week to help take the swelling down and ease the pain for her too and make sure she gets plenty of rest, she’s struggling to put pressure on it it’s a shame on her 😔💞

Poor thing! It's possible she caught it on something and caused a sprain or minor fracture... hopefully the pain meds help. Hadley once hurt a paw (not sure how!) and although it didn't swell or look red or bruised, she was very dramatically hobbling around on it... our vet said many guinea pigs do not do well with pain, even of the relatively minor variety! I hope she is back to normal soon!

I think I know how she’s done it, I have a cardboard square and it has circles with holes in it plus it’s got gaps and I put treats in them it’s fun to watch especially their reaction when they drop it in the gaps... that’s the only thing I can think of what could hurt her leg xx

I hope she feels better soon. I had a piggy with a sprain once and she was back to her usually self within a few days. I guess she could have hurt her leg on the treat toy but sadly, it’s impossible to say. My Erin did it by landing funny after a popcorn

Me too, aww bless her my other guinea pig Jaffa the amount of times he’s popcorned and hit his head he’s very clumsy it’s cute to watch but I always cuddle him give his head a little stroke x
