My boys had a fight earlier.
I tried bonding again but it didn't work.

They were both bleeding from/around their mouth. I have cleaned them up but Toffee looks like his mouth is swollen on one side.

He doesn't look like he's in pain, he is still eating, drinking and stomping round his pen.

Any advice?

I am very sorry; it must be very upsetting for you! Please have them both checked by a vet as the bites seem to be deep; they may need antibiotics to prevent an infection. Also check other parts of the body for bites (especially the rump).

Are they separated now? Unfortunately, boars after a serious bloody fight like that won't usually go back together, so you will have to think about alternatives in the long term.

You can keep both boys next to each other with mesh in between; it is not the greatest option, but workable. Or you can rebond your healed up boys with a character compatible boar each under expert supervision at a good rescue that offers this service; a rescue may also be prepared to "swap" a boar for you if you are short on space and can only afford one pair. Thirdly you can have each boar neutered to live with a sow each. Neutering only takes away the ability to make babies, but does not change behaviour or attitudes, and the risk of post op complications is significant.

Thanks.
They are separated. They are next to each other with grids in-between.
They actually seem very happy with this arrangement (they have been like it for a few weeks, due to having to separate them then :( ) , they like each other through the bars and will lie next to each other and purr. Why they can't do this when they are together I don't know!:{

More pigs isn't a option unfortunately. 1. I don't have the room to add any more to their cages. They both have a 4 by 2 each and half a 120 for sleeping in at night.
2. My other half is a grumpy poo and isn't keen on current pigs, let alone adding to them.

I'm not sure I could 'swap' one. :( I am rather attached to them both, and I would be worried about having the same situation somewhere down the line, then I am back to square one. Like I said they seem quite content to be next to each other and they get lots of lap and floor time so I think how it will be :{

I took my Original pig (Fudge) to bond him with a mate and he chose Toff. they got on fine then suddenly it all went wrong.

I will phone the vets first thing, see if I can get them in!
