Hi, my guinea pig Cookie has a swollen middle toe on his back foot. It doesn't seem to be hurting him as he doesn't pull away or make a noise when we touch it, and he's still walking around fine and jumping up and down from the ledges in his cage. We took him to the vet who was a bit puzzled. Cookie's temperature was fine and he is in very good health in general. The vet prescribed an anti-inflammatory but this hasn't made a difference. Does anyone know what could be causing the swelling? Is it ok to just leave it, or should we take him back to the vet?

Not sure. I would go back to the vet, it could be infected and need some antibiotics to help clear it up. X
