I've just been cleaning our our gp hutch and noticed that one of them had something stuck to his back foot. It was a big piece of megazorb that had got damp. I pulled it off and he squeaked a bit. On closer inspection, the toe that it was stuck to is really red and angry looking. It doesn't appear to be bothering him too much. He's walking ok, eating, etc, etc. I'm wondering whether the removal of this piece of bedding might help to heal it, or whether I should take him to the vets. I don't think they're open until Monday anyway. Is there anything I should be doing until then, or should I just keep an eye on it and book him in for Monday.
Any thoughts appreciated. I'm a bit of a novice at this sort of thing. This is the first time we've had any sort of problem!
