Hello!

A few days ago I discovered my boy Jackson had a swollen toe. It's his back foot and middle toe.
I've checked online and the only thing i can see is maybe it could be bumble foot because there is a tiny little black bit like a scab on the toe but bumble foot looks like it usually affects the foot.
He's going to the vet tomorrow but I like to have a rough idea before I get there as I've had some bad experiences with small animals and vets.
He lives in a cage with a plastic bottom and is cleaned regularly so I don't know how he could have got this!
I cleaned the toe yesterday with salt water and it doesn't actually seem to be bothering him. He still ran away from me when it put him on my bed :)

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Has he lost his nail? I noticed on one of my pigs ones he had lost a nail and the toe looked swollen and there was a black bit at the end, i dont remember it being a problem to be honest, but it was a few years back now

No the nail is still attached! I considered maybe he had broken it but there arent any drops or platforms for him to fall from or anything..

I guess the best thing to do would be to ring in your vets and ask them about it. They'll get you to come in if it's anything serious ;)

from your description it doesnt sound like bumble foot. he might have caught his toe or toe nail on something and if the little black mark is at the base of his toe nail it might be a blood blister.
