This might be a completely stupid question but I’ve only had him for a month. Hes roughly 10 months old. Does this look normal? I don’t remember this area being swollen like this but I might just be paranoid.

Thank you!

Welcome to the forum

He looks to be a normal unneutered male with his testicles visible (so not a swelling in a medical sense that something is wrong). Some are more noticeable than others!

Does he live with another male?

Amazing thank you! Yeah he lives with another male but the other one doesn’t have them visible like that so I thought something was off 🥲

Testicles start to descend at 4 months of age, but some are more obvious than others.

Just to check given youve not had them long, Is the other piggy definitely a male?

Hi

Please double-check the gender of the companion. Testicles typically descend between 4-6 months but their size can individually vary. Your boy in the picture is pretty average in size.

You can find reference pictures for both boars (in different stages) and sows (with their various features) in this link here: Illustrated Sexing Guide

If you struggle, please open a thread in our Sexing Corner so we can help you determine the gender.
