Well I've not long been back after collecting syd from burton RSPCA earlier.
They went in the small hamster cage whilst on the way back for rhe car journey. I put in lots of hay carrots and celery. They were very good travelling back.
Anyway there in the cage now everything is clean etc.

Wiggy has and still is at times in between eating doing the low purring and has been hip swaying slightly. Wiggy did try to hump little 6 week old syd but gave up after 5 secs. There is a teddy in with them.

They are both under the log dome eating hay and gem lettuce.
Wiggy is stuffing his face but is lay on his side and already looks relaxed and "different" if you get me. Syd is just eating hay and being quiet which is to be expected.

Will add pics in min.

Ok so things seem calm. The only fine wiggy does the low purr sound is if syd moves about.
Here are some pics
This is syd, he's tiny

Good news! Rumblestrutting and mounting (unless it is truly incessant) are minor dominance and par for the course. It's looking VERY peaceful indeed!

They are both gorgeous and obviously happy about each other's company.

Great news... Great first pigtures.. droolx) Looks like their settling in together nicely.. xx

Little bit of chasing now and again.
I put a small hut (rat version of there big bunny one) in for little syd but Blumin wiggy can get inside it he shoves his fat pig bum through and up roots it and carries it like a tortoise

Don't worry its normal :) They are gorgeous x)

Give me rat intros over pigs any day lol. I understand rattie behaviour this guinea pig language is all very new to me.
I'm on edge.

Wiggy is the. Smooth coated boy it's Syd that's got the wacky hair do.

Yep things seem great now, they've been eating together there currently eating the pellets.
Every now and again wiggy does his purring noise. But apart from that they seem ok together.

Wiggy is chilled out in the middle of the cage on his side with his back feet sticking out its so cute. He's never done that before. He must feel more chilled out now. Had both of them out on me earlier for cuddles. Syd feels so tiny and thin compared to big 1.2kg wigster.
Is it right that baby pigs to feel boney? The vet at the RSPCA had given him a check over and all is fine but he was in with 4 other babies so I wonder if they didn't have enough dry?

A typical piggy diet should be unlimited hay 80% about 15% fresh veggies and 5% dry nuggets. It would be a good idea to start a weight chart for Syd drool and weigh him and Wiggy weekly as Syd is just a youngster you should see his weight gradually increase. His weaning weight should be around 200grams it is also a good idea to weigh them at the same time of day each week. But don't worry about small variations in weight as this could be the difference between a full bladder and an empty one. As long as you see him eating and pooping all should be ok.

Lisa & Ali.. x

How long does the low purring and rumble strutting go on for? I ask because wiggy is still doing it but its mainly when ted aka Syd moves about the cage.

Last night I hardly slept for worry incase something bad had happened but hubby came down and said they were both snuggled up together.

Hiya,

Its good that Ted is putting on weight but please dont become obsessed with weighing your piggies. Providing they are eating, drinking and pooping and enjoying each others company then unless you suspect an illness weighing once a week is more than sufficient as you will see a trend develop as Ted grows.

Enjoy your piggies as new relationships are a wonderous thing.

More pigtures are required though... ;)

yeh I just wanted to see if all was ok as when I got him on thurs he was quite skinny but I said to hubby before I weighed ted earlier I reckon he's put on weight. Yes I shall weigh him once a week.
I posted some pics in "breeds" as wanted to know what my boys are. :)

Little ted has been regularly grooming wiggy and doing his ears for him it looks like wiggy thoroughly enjoyed it as he was closing his eyes.
All is going very well between them both, I have noticed wiggy won't let ted into the cuddle bed but there is other areas for him to sleep. But if ted pushes his way in wiggy jumps out. Lol

When you have full grown you forget how little they were.I just got 6 week old bavy girl and my older ones look huge
