Synthetic/artificial Grass?

First off, I hope everyone has had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Okay, with the hutch that I'm getting, the ground floor has an open floor to allow grazing etc, but I only have synthetic/artificial grass outside. Is artificial grass unsafe for guinea pigs? Will they try to chew/digest it?

I'd be worried about them chewing it and ingesting it like you said. Do you know the make of the grass you have? Perhaps you could contact the comany who made it to see if it's pet safe? Even then i'd be worried about them eating the plastic and it getting stuck?

I would not let the pigs anywhere near artificial grass as they will try to eat it.

Perhaps you could make a patch of turf for them in your garden?

Thanks everyone! My dad is looking into fixing up a sort of tray/ DIY floor to put underneath, as I'd rather not risk them trying to eat the artificial grass. Thanks again!

I think they would try eat it too. My little rascals tried nibbling our artificial Christmas tree if they where let near it!
