Hi guys I've adopted a mother and baby and had then yesterday I don't think that they have eaten at all not even any veg am bit worried and don't know wether the syringe feed or leave them see if they eat anything I understand piggies are really nerves
Thank you

I would get a baseline weight check done now and then monitor their weight before jumping to syringe feeding. The chances are they just need time to settle in Cover the cage with a sheet and put plenty of hay everywhere, you may find they are coming out when you aren’t watching

Ok thank you had piggies before just bit worried no veg was eaten others ate it these guys ain't so worried I've done that with the hay I can't see if going down no pellets eaten either

Hay is the most important part of the diet. You cannot tell whether hay is going down - it cant be gauged by eye, so that is why the routine weight checks are so important, it’s the only way to tell hay intake
Get a baseline of their weight literally right now and then you can continue to weigh them going forward and you will then know.

Don’t worry too much about veg and pellets, they aren’t as important in the diet as hay is.

Are you giving the same type of pellets that they are used to?
Do you know what veg they have previously been given?

There used to cabbage cauliflower and carrots and the person said other veg put wast specifically early i did put carrot it but was refused so then i put in today cucumber green been and celery there one celery and green bean left so I have left it there see if it goes when house bit more quite the pellets ive scattered them near the hide so it's really close near where they are and I've put hay within the whole of the hidey

Hi update they seem to be activity with where the mum and baby are they ate the veg what I gave them last night and also poos in the corner of the pen and hay been scattered so I think there ok still keeping a eye on them I've had piggies before understand there nerves I think it's was my panic disorder setting in and also losing daisy in September don't help matters but because I have this it won't stop be giving love to other piggies again.

Piggies always worry us - I remember that when I got my two piggies in 2021
In time tho they will settle and their personalities will show
It’s scary for them …moving somewhere new, new noises, new smells , maybe new hay/ veg
Relax and try not to worry as @Piggies&buns says weigh them every day at the same time to gauge what they are eating 🥰

Update there eating loads of hay drinking eating pellets popcorning I have a camrea so can see what there doing lol.

That’s great news

Did you get a baseline weight check done so you can know they are definitely eating enough hay?
