Hi, can anyone tell me a good source to buy 1 ml syringes on t'internet please, to buy in bulk? Thanks. xx

I get mine from Thistle Cavies shop - proceeds go to rescue piggies then :)

I have also bought them in bulk from the syringe shop on ebay.

I bought from Vet UK as well, one of the best prices I've found. When I was syringe-feeding I bought from a couple of places, I think I got 30 for something like £5. Although if you can persuade your vets to give you a box you might get a better deal!

Pampared Piggies is where I got mine from. I've run out so I better get some. :) x

Thanks for this post guys. It has been something I have been meaning to buy since i got my piggies but as you don't get them in normal piggie shops I always forget to buy any! Better get some before I need them!

I've been thinking of getting some for a while - is the 1ml the best size to get?

Also where do you get the critical care from?

I use oxbow from sph CC. I found that the others on other sites were not guaranteed to be proper CC. Also syringes i have two one that is 6mls, it has a wider end than most of them. Its better because it does not get blocked with the CC. I use a smaller one with for the water. My vet gave me mine.

I buy Critical Care from Vet Uk too. I used to get the slightly smaller resealable pouch from my vet but as Pops was going through a pouch every week I started to buy the larger one. I find Vet UK very efficient. I have always used the 1 ml syringes with the end cut off for syringe feeding.

1ml are the more useful size. I never remove the end of the syringe for feeding purposes, no need.

I love the Critical Care Fine Grind, goes through an unaltered 1ml syringe with no problem. I too buy from SPH Supplies, but a few other sites do sell CC - and similar alternatives - too.

Just bought a millions syringes and some critical care from vet uk. Hopefully CC won't be needed but will be too late if it is and I need to order it!

I was lucky and my vets gave me handfuls as i needed them, i stock piled so have some now in case the girls need them.......i'm actually going to start offering them a 1ml with water in it real soon so they know what syringes are for :)

You can freeze CC, it will then last a few months past its expiry date. Most people add Vit C to the mixture when they do need to use it after it's expiry date.

There is always the option of making your own mash to syringe-feed with the dry feed, but personally I still favour the CC. It may be convenience but I trust that it's got all the nutrients necessary and it has added benefits - extra Vit C, extra fibre, pro/prebiotics.

I just ordered 2 outer boxes from vet uk totalling almost £14.00 instead they sent me two syringes instead of 200! this is the most ridiculous mistake ever! how can you think oh the order cost £14 it should be for 2 syringes! I am so cross! it came wednesday but wasn't in and the postoffice made me wait 48 hrs for some reason. so got them friday but has been my nieces christening today so spent last couple of days helping out and finding present and outfit so hadn't opened the parcel. opened it now and was such abig box for two syringes! they have got me quite cross as could have had a very sick piggie in need of them!

I have just sent them a very cross e-mail. I can't believe it. Luckly George is better now and they will be for future emergencies. But I could have had a very sick piggie and no syringes to syringe feed with!

Hope you have recovered from the stress of your "taxing biology exam".

Fame at last, for both of us!! Less of the fame, where is the fortune?

two boxes arrived today so no harm done. They said they would have a "word" with the packing department!
