I just bought the Pro C Professional probiotic by Vetark to use as a daily vitamin & probiotic but I want to directly syringe them a concentrate solution, I do not want to use it as directed as we all know you shouldn't put anything in their water.

It says you need 5ml of powder per 500ml of water, my guinea pigs can probably manage at most 5ml in one go. How on earth do I do this?

:eek::help:

You are right not to add it to their water.

If you are just using this as a supplement to a normal, healthy diet then I probably wouldn't go to the trouble of syringing it directly to them (unless they love the taste and will take it willingly of course).
In fact I probably wouldn't give it at all if their diet is fine and they all seem healthy, but that's just my opinion.

If you do want to give it via syringe you just need to scale down the dosages, so:
5 ml (did you mean grams?) in 500ml water =
1 ml in 100ml water =
0.1 ml in 10ml water

So you could make up small quantities as you need it, or slightly larger quantities and store it for a day or two, or rather than syringe feeding directly you could make up a solution and rinse their fresh vegges in it before serving them.

Thank you! I have 10 piggies but I bought this for 4 of them that need some support at the moment, two have chronic digestive problems, one has chronic dental problems and one is battling a fungal infection, so this is just as an all around support for all 4 piggies, just sounded like the best choice besides the adding to drinking water part... it's the only thing I could really find that was cheapest and do everything I needed.

The powder comes with a little scoop that says 5ml on it so it is measured in ml, I thought it was supposed to say grams also. 0.1ml sounds like the best option, I will give that a go. If they don't want to take it willingly (which usually they do, they're quite well syringe trained) I will try sprinkling it on their veggies instead. :D
