Table.. Would the type of wood matter?

Well at present, since I gave the piggies the majority of the floor. I have no place to put my tea, I don't really think in the run would be the best place for it.

What I was thinking was getting a bedside table, petra kindly made another suggest that I should get one with a wee shelf at the bottom so they can have a piggie tower too. Which I think is a great idea.

That way my cup can sit on top and the piggies can hide underneath it.

What do you think? What kind of wood could it be made from would it matter?
 
Good idea! I don't think the wood matters. But be prepared for a bit of gnawing on the legs!

Oak, is a good strong and long lasting wood, pine is lower market and not tronhg
 
joanne that table is very easy to put together i have a shelf unit like that its a case of slot things in,a guinea pig could do it themself :)
 
Good plan just don't knock anything off in onto the piggies! i am that clumsy lol
 
aslong as it is cold coffee! (scalding would not be funny!)also i think there is something in mdf that is bad for piggies you might want to wrap the wood in something so they can't eat it?
 
I have used untreated pine in my piggy room,its safe if they knaw on it,i wouldnt use any other would as most can be poisionous to them;)
I think there are other woods you can use but untreated pine is probably the most available xx
 
likely to be pine as it is the cheapest wood out there! would wrap in something non slip for when they jump up! if it were my two girls i would be safe with anything they do not chew, Jive on the otherhand likes to gnaw everything!
