Taffy - close up!

Taffy was the most nervous of the Sokel piggies from the huge RSPCA rescue in Gateshead from last June which was featured in 24/7. It has taken her a long time to even start to relax around humans!

Until a few weeks ago, most of these close up pictures would simply have been unthinkable – Taffy would have either run away or hid at the back of the scrum and would have certainly not slept anywhere near an open space!

I am so proud of her achievement! (PS: Thanks for your invaluable example, Fflur – you leave a wonderful legacy!)

My freakish girl has come a loooong way! She is still work in progress, but with time and patience, we are getting there!

She's such a gorgeous girl and fits so perfectly with her extended family. :) Lovely pictures as always. Thank you. x
 
That is fantastic. Its is great to see them eventually acting like piggies should after such a horrible start to life :))
 
What a stunning girl she is! It is so lovely to see a rescued animal grow in confidence and let their personality shine through.
 
What a darling girl, isn't she - and such a super story. I swear that in picture 3 she is SMILING, such a big grin. Thank you as always for sharing your family, Wiebke - not having my own piggies now, I do love to see them.

It is taking Taffy longer than most piggies to come round, but I knew that when I rehomed her - I am just so pleased that she is finally to really start relaxing at gut level and that she has stopped freaking out of her mind most of the times now (vet visits excluded...:{).
 
Aw gorgeous x), It has got to be the one of the best feeling in the world when a timid pig, starts coming round Heartwarming :).

Everyday is new progress :).... Keep it up Taffy, Fflur and your mummy are very proud :)...

I must admit that I'm in love with Taffy's underpants - and she finally fills them out!

Considering that there was nothing at all on her back after multiple back-to-back pregnancies with her spine sticking out a finger's width from where here flesh began, she's come a long way and has FINALLY stopped growing - just short of Nerys!
 
Awww what lovely photos, its so nice to see her all relaxed! Ruby (Taffys cage mate at Hels) is coming om well too - still got a long way to go but she finally came up to the side of the cage the other day and took the food out of my hand - before she would venture near me but then think that I was trying to poison her with my offering of food and dive into her snuggle sac so I was very happy when she took the food from me!

I love the smile in the 3rd photo, Peanut and Pod think Taffy is beautiful, and should she need any suitors could they be please first in the queue?

It is funny that Taffy will come up for her piece of apple at lunchtime out in living room since November/December, but she would never do it in the cage! Thankfully, the example of a totally relaxed piggy like Fflur has done wonders for Taffy.

She is still very stiff when I handle her, but at least she doesn't completely freak out of her mind anymore like during the first few months; I can now reach her at all times and she has finally accepted that nobody is out to do unspeakable things to her anymore!

Llewelyn was another one that took a long time to bring round, so I know how much you can do with patience, and in the meantime I know that Taffy is completely happy being a major girl in the tribe.

very good job to you. Taffy has come from such a terrible condition - but you have gained her trust! x)
