In general how can you tell the difference between the tailbone and something that shouldn't be there? Tonight I discovered that there is a pretty bony bump above my girl's anus. It's maybe been there before, and I just never noticed. She doesn't have any other symptom, so I'm guessing she's fine, but I don't feel a bone like that on my other pig (who I guess is also fatter).

Yes that’s normal. I can feel it more on one of my pigs than the other. As long as the rest of her doesn’t feel boney then you’re ok.

Our slim little Puggle has a very noticeable tailbone, and having seen an xray of her she does actually have an extra little bone there positioned a bit wrong! Its never caused her any trouble, I think as long as you are careful and aware that there is a bony spine bit right by their grease gland if you ever need to clean that, its nothing to worry about :)

I find that you can feel Abysinian pigs tail bone more than smooths. But I'm don't know if that's just my 3 abys I've had

I've never felt Jezzy floof's tailbone but I cant find her grease gland either and its an effort to find her bum sometimes and her left nipple- she's just too floofy!
