I have added piccies of him but wanted to tell you a little more about him.
We collected him today from a lady a few towns away who bought a piggie from pets at home and it suddenly got fat!
She happened to mention that she had baby piggies to my mum ( they go on the same bus to bingo )
She had 2 girls and 1 boy, She decided to keep the girls with mum but needed a home for the boy.
So we collected him today as the new cage arrived last night.

He is 7 weeks old and is the runt of the litter,, poor little man has been alone since 4 weeks old since he has no brothers or daddy and was in a hamster cage as they didnt have anywhere else to put him:...

Well his first day has gone well I think,,, he has had pleanty of cuddles and loves his new extra large home :) Altho I am a little concerned he hasnt eaten much.... he has had a few nibbles at the long grass in the run but wasnt interested in any veg or his dry food, he also ate some hay and had a few sips from his water bottle.
He is off to the vets in the morning for a check up so I am going to mention this to her but am just hoping its nerves and not knowing where he is etc.

He got very excited when he heard sonic and they saw each other too,, Tails looked thrilled.. Sonic looked like he couldnt care less lol.

Just been out to do the nightly check and he is still snuggled up in his nesting area and sonic is munching away on his chube as usual.

They are in the new cage and separated by the solid divider,, until I know he is ok from the vets I dont want to put the mesh divider in just yet. They have been sqeeking to each other tho :)

What makes me giggle is how HUGE sonic seems now after handling Tails lol.
Anyways I shall keep you all updated on how he goes 2moro x

I saw his pics on your other thread, he's lush. Poor little thing been in a hamster cage, all that is behind him now.

Perhaps he'll nibble at his veg over night as he's probably nervous still settling in, good luck with the vet check up tomorrow, it's a good idea and I'm sure it will go fine!

Cool names by the way!

How lovely to hear all about Tails. You are doing all you need to. He may just need to get used to his surroundings before he feels comfortable to eat. How sad he was alone in a hamster cage. I am so glad he has you and Sonic now to love him.

Morning all,
Tails has a clear bill of health from the vet this morning :)
ALTHO He still hasnt eaten anything since yesterday, nor has he drank anything since yesterday when he first arrived.
She said to me to keep a close eye on him and to take him back 2moro if he still hasnt eaten anything. Also she said putting him in with sonic may encourage him to eat?
Well I'm still very worried and have decided that if he hasnt eaten by this afternoon am going to try syring feeding? is this a good idea or should I let him be until 2moro he just seems so small to not be eating

It's very important that he eats to keep his guts moving, guinea pigs can go into gut stasis if they are not eating and pooing.. Has he been pooing?

It may be possible he is eating without you knowing. Have you weighed him? If he isn't eating he will lose weight for sure. Weighing is an excellent indication of whats going in...

Have you tried tempting him with some parsley or other desired Guinea Pig veggies? You certainly need to syringe feed if he is not eating at all, you can syringe mushed up pellets or crtitical care...

Please re-visit the vet again if he is not eating any food at all.

Phew well have just been for a peek and he has had nibbles on carrot, parsley and kale,, Only a few nibbles but definate nibble marks there :)
Still doesnt look like pellets have been eaten but then again I cant be sure as Sonic usually empties his bowl by the end of the day but Tails' still full...

Still pooing as usual,, not seen him drink today tho so have given him 2 extra peices of cucmber

Will keep you all updated xx

This is all sounding very positive. Is he eating hay? It is far more important he eats hay then dry food.

He's settling into his new environment so is a bit nervous probably - new sounds, smells etc. ?/ They all get a little more adventurous daily so very likely by the weekend, will be eating/drinking normally - still keep an eye on him though. Try the divider as seeing another piggy does help.
I adopted a little sow and she lived alone for a time until we found her a baby friend - Amelia was always a fussy eater but after we had Olivia, she gobbled everything in sight and it helps the quieter piggy as they know they have to join in. One piggy will lead the other so you may find after introductions/bonding, Tails will eat really well :(|)

Soo pleased how today went :)
After the few nibbles i put them both in the run together for there first meeting :)
It went really well and they stayed together in the run for a good 4 hours! under constant supervision, me and hubby took it it turns but the weather was fab so we didnt mind sitting out haha!

Sonic shared his cucumber with tails and tails also copied everything sonic did.
He ate lotsssssssss of everything lol! and seems a lot more settled in Sonics company.
I think my Sonic did quite well accepting his new friend altho i could tell there were times when he was thinking,, just bogof and get out of my face lol!
Have added vids in the pictures section of their meet x

That is so cute to hear! They have bonded so well. Aww little tails copying Sonic is adorable.^)
