Hi there, I have an appt tomorrow with 1 piggie and I don't know what would be best, to take all 3 or just runty? They are boars so I am worried that taking just him might make him smell different and upset their bond? What do other people do? :)

I would take all three; I prefer to take a "paw holder" companion (or two if it is a trio) unless the ill piggy is very ill indeed and may have to be put to sleep. The trip together is less stressful for all of them than if you separated.

A bond is not broken for the first two days; it takes longer than that.

I would take them all. Firstly it never does the others harm to experience the vets before they get sick (hopefully they won't ever be!), I always try to familiarise mine so that if they have to go when sick they are better prepared, and secondly, it's always better to take them with a friend and you cannot leave one behind! My vets have never minded how many I bring. Hope it all goes ok? X

I once took 6 lol. I dont think it matters so long as you tell them how many you are bringing that are sick so they know how much time you need for your appt.

I always take a companion with them - not only does it reassure the piggy while travelling, it provides the vet with a 'comparison pig' :) On my last visit to the vets, I had three piggies who needed an appointment, each with a companion, so I had six!

As the others have said, I always take another piggie keep my ill one company on the trip :) as it helps the ill piggie keep calm and less stressed.

I take mine in pairs. When one went in for the day for tests the other went too for company. So cute to hear them wheeking out the back at the vets!

When I'm at vets and they take one into the back I really panic, not sure why! I almost feel like I want to go in with them :(

Thanks everyone for your replies. I took everyone in with me today. He had a hay poke yesterday and his eye had gone all cloudy. My vet was fab and did a dye check for damage to the eye and has given me eye drops for 7days. I'm glad I took them all with me- they we're all pleased to get home and popcorn about the cage :p

Thanks for the update, hope the hay poke clears up soon! Lots of healing vibes
