I phoned up the local rspca and asked for a homecheck to take on a neutered boy. It was a little hard going explaining how I have a 5/6 week old girl with the 6 month and 5 month old girls, I dont think the lady on the phone listened when I told her fudge was the daughter of minty. She thought I mistakenly had a male with the two of them - I have double checked each one of them and they are all 3 girls, which I reassured her I have done.

They seem happy with my hutch size but not happy with my run size. I originally brought the wire 4ft x 2ft (I think, might be 3ft or 2.5ft) and a week later a charity shop had a 5ft wooden triangular run donated which I brought from them, which was a bargain. But they dont like the 5ft x 2ft (or 3 or 2.5 - cant be bothered to measure the width in the dark just yet, said it was 2ft) for 4 piggies to use and have asked me to extend it - no problems there as I can attach the wire 4ft triangular run to the wooden 5ft run.

She thought I was a little weird as I said they wouldnt be in the run all day, and certainly not when I was at work as I didnt trust the local wildlife. I thought that was a good thing to point out. She asked if I had allergies, I truthfully replied "yes, but not to guinea pigs" and I pointed out I dont keep them on shavings and all hay is in a rack, plus I wear gloves to restock the hay to keep reactions down.

I am not holding out much hope of passing, I think having a dog will go against me, working full time (its not so black and white as I do 4 days out of 7, OH is home in the afternoon so that was why we passed all our homechecks for a second dog) is never a plus point and they might not like my run combo when I fix them together. I dont want to sound too negative as I know I have a good home here and any animal under my care has a great life, but I may not fit their specific criteria.

I believe in fate, if I am supposed to have a boy join our family then it will happen, but if not then it isnt supposed to be.

Brent knoll (or rather north somerset) is the closest to me and where I have adopted from before - although I have changed address so havent told them I adopted previously as they probably would still do a homecheck as new like they are.
