Today, I took Guinea to the vet to check up on him.
They gave him fluids and two medicines-
-An antibiotic to treat a potential bladder infection
-Pain relief for arthritis (because they were concerned about how calm he was. I didn’t say anything knowing that he is in pain because of his arthritis.)

Anyway, right now Guinea does not seem to be acting correct. He keeps grabbing fabric and pulling it aggressively, he seems angry, and he’s overall worse than he was.

He always behaves negatively when taking medicine, but I just want to hear feedback from other pig owners.

Do your guinea pigs also start acting angry when put on medicine?

My piggy has a cold and she got antibiotics. She doesnt like them, but she doesnt seem too angry after she takes them.

The most angry thing she did after the antibiotics was probably harshly yanking the food I offered her out of my hand — but that was probably because she was eager to get rid of the yucky medicine taste. (Maybe that was why your piggy was yanking fabric?)

Anyways, my piggy is a grumpy old lady in general. She’s four years old and loves to bite. But she was like that before the medicine, too.

What antibiotic is it please? and what pain relief?
