In previous years, when we've gone on holiday, my parents have come and piggy-sat. But they are getting rather old and frail now (my parents, not the pigs!) and we need to look at alternatives.
Sammy and Rupert are two thoroughly spoilt indoor pigs and the boarding places near us all house their 'guests' in outdoor hutches. This would prob. be OK in summer as long as the weather is not too hot, but I'm not sure about Easter - April can be quite chilly and if they've been used to living indoors...
...So we wondered about renting a cottage and taking them with us. Not too far, but that's not a problem. I don't like long journeys either!
A lot of cottages are advertised as 'Pets welcome' but they really only accept dogs, but we have managed to find one which accepts piggies.

Has anybody else taken their piggies on holiday with them?

I haven't as I'm lucky to have gemma nearby so she looks after mine and I look after hers, however, if I had to I'd take them with me, as long as it wasn't too far (probably 2 hours max)
