Has any of you ever taken a piggy with you when you go out? Where did you go and what did you keep piggy in?

I would like to go out with some friends but I need to be here to feed Crumbs. Is there any way I could take him with me? 0:) x

Guinea pigs are naturally nervous creatures, they are not dogs, and I dont think it would be a good idea to take one 'out and about' :)

Ok thanks.

Peter Gurney wrote about taking them out in his book, was just double checking =] x

Feeding him a bit earlier or later than normal won't do him any harm, just give him few extra veggies and he'll not mind :)

Hes being syringe fed, so its a bit difficult. He won't touch veggies! :-\

I'm not being nasty, i just personally dont think its a good idea...if you go to the vets etc you can get piggie carriers! :smitten:

Hehe thanks ;)

I just don't want him to get hungry and I haven't left him alone since he got ill.
I probably won't go out if I can't take him :'(

Aww..I'm sure you could take some syringes of food? :-\
As long as you arent swinging him around or hes not too hot/cold I'm sure he will be fine :)

I need ideas of something to bring him in then. :-\ I could take a pot of food and a syringe, I just don't want to leave him alone in case something goes wrong =s

I have a little pink plastic carrier thing..i got it from p@h i think...it was £10-15 :)

Cool thanks ;)
I don't have a carrier and I have no money/transport to go get me one!

Is there anything else I could use? :-\

I would never take my piggy out on them piggie harnesses, although it would be a funny site, but cruel.

If I wanted to go anywhere with a pig to show my friend or something I would take the piggie in a cat carrier, this way they are safe and they won't feet at harm or anything :)

Yep those were my same thoughts Ali. I wouldn't put a piggy in a harness O0

Hopefully get my mum to take me to tesco when she gets home :D

Cool! ooo its so exciting!

Thats perfect cos it looks quite funky and cute and its practical O0 0:)

Yeah if I ever saw a person in the streeet with a piggie in a harness they would get a mouthful off me, but I think everybody is sensible enough (OR SHOULD BE!!) not to put a piggie in a harness.

Where are you going Peppapunk? If its just to a mates house then you should be OK, but if you are worried abotu Crumbs I'd be tempted to stay in with him and go out with your mates when he's better - what if one of them lets him out?

Its just that I don't want him to get hungry, and i think I have seperation anxiety 98)

do you not think it is best to stay at home and comfort your guinea pig especially if he is being syringed fed!? you can always go out with your friends after he is better and taking him out would just stress him out even more!

lucy

thanks

I'm gonna stay in now I think if I can't take him. I think I'm only gonna take him if I'm going to a house :smitten:
