So as many are aware I've got 3 brothers(Jett, mickey and tiger) I've only had them 1 week which I know is such little time for guinea pigs and when I got them last Saturday I was told they were 7 weeks old.
They're currently in an indoor cage which at the end of the month I am getting them a two tier hutch so they have plenty of room with being 3 boars and ill be able to modify the hutch to two hutches if I do have to split them up when they hit hormonal stage.

My concern at the minute is that they are still soooo scared- I understand they are prey animals and they're going to be scared. I left them for a couple of days to settle in but every time I go near their cage they just bolt in the hidey hut and Jett always gets sat on or squashed. Jett is definitely going to be the submissive of the 3 and mickey is definitely tw dominant one- he does the occasional bum shuffle, but he does mount a bit.

Mickey didn't mind being stroked before I got him and I held all 3 of them so I know they didn't mind it but it just seems now they hate any contact. I've started hand feeding some veggies to get them used to me- tiger is getting so good- he sits and wait for food most the time now whereas the other 2 just hide away until I've gone unless I take all the things out the cage then they eat like crazy! I've just been in their room and sat an spoke to them- I managed to stroke Jett and tiger for a few seconds but if you go to pick them up they just bolt away. I am very impatient an I know I'm being impatient with them but will they eventually calm down- should I keep feeding and talking for them to get used to me or should I just hold and stroke them so they get used to it? I don't want to do the wrong thing :(
I'm worried that when they get the big two tier hutch they're more likely to run away from me and ill never get them used to me or being handled. I want them to get used to being handled so I can do things like nails, bath and carry them to the run.

Any advice is much appreciated as like I say I just want to do right by them

Be patient. You could stroke them before you got them because they were simply frightened and playing dead in the hope that the predator would lose interest.

It is actually a good sign that they trust you enough to let you know their feelings. Building up trust and learning how to become pets is a time consuming process. Please remember that shop piggies have hardly had any human contact before. Try to sit by the cage and talk to them lots in a gentle voice. Praise them. Lure them to come out with little veg treats. Get them used to your hands being around with nice stuff.

You can also train them to come into some pick up conveyance with the help of treats, but let them get so comfy with it first that ideally they sleep in it. Always use the same words with the same melody for the same ritual, so they learn what to expect and their lives stop being random violence. it will take several weeks, but it is worth it.

Thank you for that!

I have made a bit of progress over the last couple of days. I've had tiger and mickey eating out of my hand- tiger is getting really good to the point where he'll munch his food and then sit and wait for more! Mickey has just started to follow what tiger is doing! Jett however just stays in his hidey hut. With food going so well at the minute is it advisable to try and pick them up or should I leave them for a while longer to get used to me?

Just a quick update.. Tiger is getting really good now.. When I walk in the room I say 'do you want some veggies?' And as soon as I've said that tiger is stretched out with his nose sniffing in the air it's so cute! He doesn't really hesitate with food anymore although he does snatch it and take it away.. Mickey is starting to learn the process.. Slowly but he's making progress. Jett however just freezes on the spot or tries to hide underneath one of the others. Mickey and Jett seem to hide in the tunnel all the time whilst I'm in the room- should I take the tunnel and hidey huts out whilst I'm in the room?
I've figured aswell that when my hand is in the cage because of how quick they bolt they make me jump which in turn is scaring them- any ideas or advice other than to get a grip lol
