How Do I Settle Shy New Guinea Pigs?

Lots of time and patience and love.
Talk to them gently all the time you’re with them.
They will get used to your voice and associate you with food.
Give them time to settle down in their new environment.
Remember they are prey animals so you can only relate to them on their terms.
Learn what they like and will accept from you.
Hand feeding is a good start too.
The way to a piggy’s heart is through it’s tummy.
There is a great deal of good advice on the forum for new owners so browse through that material and keep asking questions here.

It'll be worth it in the end. Remember to go at the pace your piggies are happy with. I am lucky . All my 5 Piggies enjoy a bit of cuddle time. Velvet and Meg particularly aren't keen on the picking up bit but a love their cuddles. They all soon make it clear when they've had enough of cuddle time!
