Senior Guinea Pig

I’ve been watching some of Saskia’s videos on YouTube (LA guinea pig rescue) and came across a video of her showing how to tame piggies. I watched it and thought I’d give it a try.
I tried it with the boys first and it actually seemed to work. The third time I picked Toffee up he didn’t run. Fudge took 3 goes to be calm when I put him down.
One of the girls is a lot more skittish than the other, though she does occasionally let me stroke her. She was calm the second time, and didn’t scream blue murder when I picked her up a second time!
I did it 4 times for each piggy. And they weren’t as skittish that fourth time of being picked up. Anyway, it’s only the first day so I will see how it goes. I’m not too fussed about them not liking being picked up. I know they may never get over that prey instinct and I actually don’t mind interacting with them in their own territory.
