so, I was awake but still in bed .. Kids were up.. Gate bell went so I got up, it was the dustbin cleaning man.. Paid him then my daughter came running to me saying Pippins dead, she's in the hay bag... She was hysterical... I looked in the cage, couldn't see her... She was inside the hay bag, alive, thank god.. I had visions of her having got her head caught or something ... She had gone through the little window in the front... My poor daughter couldn't stop crying, I was crying.. Poor Pippin was thinking " what, I wanted to sleep in the hay"....
Daughter has took the hay bag down bless her.... My heart had only just returned to normal.......

Not the best way to start the day !

How frightening! You're not the first to be frightened by hay bags. They're hard to get right, not too small so they can get stuck, not too big so they can enter the hay bag!
You can calm down now! They're ok! :)

Aww, my guinea's always park themselves in theirs, but the windows are a decent size for them to breath and my son rarely closes the top lol. They go in to get the hay from the top for some weird reason. It's the sows that do it mainly.

I can imagine! My boys did this with theirs and I no longer use them as it worries me they might get hurt or stuck etc
