hi all! Well I haven't been able too get on here for such a long time, I can certainly see why a lot of you comment on been piggy slaves :D
So Ted and chewy are just amazing their confidence has sky rocketed, Ted still loves chasing the dustpan and brush too the point where he nearly knocked himself out the other day jumping on it  but his new fav is the Hoover! Popcorns everywhere non stop until it goes off, yep his definitely thinking he is a dog :D
As for chewy he is so comical he practically popcorns everywhere he goes if he isn't doing that then when he walks all you can hear is "plup plup plup plup" as he chats away quite loudly as he walks.
I spend a lot of time with them on the floor which has helped them trust me I tell you it's amazing the difference I have seen just by sitting with them actually in the run! Only thing now is cleaning takes so much longer because they are constantly in out out of my feet, going through my arms etc etc :D
I will post new pics of those two really soon!

But I am picking up two 6 week old boars tonight from Walsall RSPCA that I'm adopting :yahoo:
Finally going to meet Becky too as she is doing the adoption herself, which it will be really nice to put a face to the name. I think I may well be addicted too piggies! The plan now is to turn the one side of our living room into a pig palace all made by my lovely husband (creep creep :D ) so there will be Ted and chewy in one section, the new babies I'm getting tonight who have no names yet and then I'm thinking of having another section for a couple of older piggies that don't seem to get adopted, I don't know if that's because their older? But they can live out the rest of their days with me  oh and then there's the foster piggies in the dining room :D which means there are more piggies than humans in my house :xd:

Lovely to hear your getting more piggies :) hope all goes well tonight when you pick them up, we defo love piggy pics :) love the idea of the piggy palace and hopefully see some pics of it too when it's done, pigs are so addictive I started with one and now have 5 and that's more pigs than people in our house too, good job we all love them :)

They sound utterly great a real pair of characters, well done for getting them out of their shells so quickly. Sitting in the run is a fantastic idea and one that works well. Lol at the hoover - little nutter! I love the chuntering noises :)

Becky is lovely - our first two rescue piggies had been fostered by Becky's Mom. You sound to be getting the piggy bug :)) Yes, older piggies tend to get overlooked in rescues unfortunately :( Start off slowly :)) Otherwise you'll have no space left! Piggies should come with an addiction warning!

Good luck for tonight, hope to hear about the newbies soon

@sport_billy @VickiA @Stayc1989
Thanks guys I must say I never thought I would feel this way about Guinea pigs but I just love them too pieces!
So we went and got the two newbies last night they are sooooooo cute and small Ted and chewy look huge compared to them :D they settled quite quickly too as soon as the TV went on they were out eating and drinking loads!then they started wheeking you should have seen Ted and chewys faces, think they are going to have too get used to it though they seem more vocal! Had a great chat with becky too she is lovely! The care and love that she has for animals is fantastic! So anyway here is the pic that was on the rspca website but I will get more personal ones soon hopefully :D still thinking of names too

Cute little faces. Sweet mini pigs :luv::luv:
Great that they are clearly used to humans and have got their paws unde the table already. It's going to be very noisy when you rustle a bag in your house now :lol!:

@VickiA it already is chewy is going mental! He can smell and hear the new babies and he is going crazy is that normal/ok? ted has had enough he has started following him nudging him every now and then think his confused ;)
Chewy will not shut up lol his going round and round looking for the new babies up the sides of the cage etc should I leave them do you think or move them out of the room? Cor blimey who knew

@Wiebke sorry to tag you but I was hoping too pick your brains if I may? So as you can see from this thread I created chewy and Ted had settled in really well, I decided to adopt two 6 week old boars to continue with my herd :D however chewy is going insane! And driving me with him! The poor sausage is going crazy trying to get to them. His wheeking, running around sniffing and now biting the run bars! He has been like it all day poor Ted has had enough he has started nudging and nipping him which is not nice too see when yesterday they were so happy! I should also add that Ted has ignored the new babies he isn't bothered it's just chewy! They are all in the living room at the mo as that's my plan. Any ideas?

Once Chewy realises he can't get at the new boys on the block, he should settled down in a few days. My neutered boars also go stir crazy whenever another sets up his own territory. They measure up against each other with what I call "boar hakas" and create a hierarchy between them. The hakas and the excitement is worst between the new boar and the one just above him in the hierarchy. After a while, it is just a taken affirmation of the territorial hierarchy.
This echoes the sow hierarchy when you introduce a new sow - she is handed down the ladder until she finds her rung; the most dominance comes from the piggy just above who makes sure it keeps its higher rank.

As long as there are no fights between Chewy and Ted, just sit it out.

Here is a video of a "boar haka" between then Big boy Hywel and newcomer Bedo.

Thank you so much I knew I could rely on your expertise! I know that early this morn when I got up chewy was teeth chattering at the tan baby but I think that was because the baby was rumble strutting the other baby and chewy must have thought it was at him! But for the majority of the day he has been wheeking for them almost as if he has been bonded and separated strange ay? Complex little creatures aren't they, I find them so intriguing! Here's hoping he settles before Ted looses his temper!
Thanks again xx

Well I am pleased to report that all has settled down now I think chewy got bored :D all is calm thank goodness!
As for names we have gone with:- Kimi for the cream crested one and Murray for the tan one we went with a formula 1 theme :D Kimi raikkonan and the legend Murray walker :D
