Ever since I saw a Teddy guinea pig, I fell in love and wanted one for myself. I especially love those with the gray and white coats. Are Teddies expensive breeds?

I got my Teddy (George) from the rescue four weeks ago :) he is now 11 weeks old :)

Whereabouts are you located? If you give me an area you live in or areas you are willing to travel the forum has various rescues with many, many different types of breeds from long haired types such as peruvians, shelties, or the curly haired types and there might just be a couple of teddies waiting for their forever home.

Rescues don't charge they only ask for a donation, and the piggies will always have a place for life incase you come across any difficulties keeping them in the future. :)

As with every pig, teddies do require company of their own kind so you will need to adopt two (one which may not be a teddy), and on the forum there is many threads with details of different types of housing, the care they require and diet.

I own two teddies and I adore them. Their care isn't necessary different but i find they tend to get more waxy ears compared to my others. Maybe a local rescue will have some.

I confess I did buy our two teddy girls Bonnie and Lottie.rolleyes

I was desperate to have a teddy piggie and we did try rescuing a guinea (not a teddy) but that fell through.

The lady I had the teddys from rescues though so I didnt feel too bad about it-she charged £20 each piggie and the money went back into her petshop/grooming/rescue funds.

They are such gorgeous girls and are so funny and friendly but I put that down to having them indoors-we have 2 outdoor boars so you really see the difference between outdoor and indoor piggies.

I love the look of teddys-they look like little pom poms.:(|)
