A month ago we became Piggy Slaves to two adorable Boars teddy and barnaby (if you have seen my previous posts you will know they are not brothers there is a week between them but the lady we got them from wanted them to stay together as they had bonded and were very close).
They are still going great this morning i think they had their first argument when i went in to see them they were both doing the mating dance and trying to mount on another and teddy kept grinding his teeth at barnaby i gave them a time out for five minutes (put a divider up) and that seemed to do the trick when i reunited them teddy did go straight to Barnaby and do the mating dance again ( he has been doing this for longer than Barnaby and i think he is the more dominant) but they calmed down and the picture below is them snuggling together a little while later friends again and have been fine the rest of the day.
I am sure i have a lot more of this to come over the coming months but on the whole they are doing very well, i make sure there is always 2 of everything so never need to fight over anything and they are very tame with my daughter she has done really well with them barnaby absolutely loves being stroked by her and teddy today let her stroke him too! They like climb on her lap when she sits in their enclosure and make happy noises when she comes in the room :)

The rumblestrutting and mounting are all perfectly normal behaviours. My pair of boys still bicker occasionally and I wouldn’t separate unless blood is drawn. Your set up looks amazing and you’ve lots of space.

:) i was only worried today because Barnaby seemed to be getting upset and the first time i have heard teddy chatter his teeth so loudly but I only separated for 5 mins.
i am proud of their setup we won the run (as well as accessories and a cage which i use when i clean out their cage and a hutch which we are not using) for 99p on eBay! I run a fabric business so have fleece to hand! i put down plastic type table cloth then newspaper then puppy pads then fleece it works well we put extra puppy pads and fleece where their hideaways are and change these daily and the rest weekly

Wow that’s a bargain price. Yes sometimes it’s a good idea to give naughty boars a time out. Ha ha.
 
It was funny if anyone could hear me talking to them they would have thought i was mad! I was like "boys really is this any way to behave you know you love each other really! Now have 5 minutes to think about that!" lol :) :) oh dear!
