And not just because I've come out since then :))

Running a bit low on the orchard hay (how much do the goblins even eat?!) and the subscription resumes in six days. Six days to stretch out the hay. Yes I've got oat hay but their tummies don't like a lot of it, so do I get another box on top of the subscription box? And maybe I should get a 10kg box instead of a 5kg to get me ahead of myself. Ah but the subscription's for orchard hay, should the "extra" box be orchard (since Cam likes to bury himself every so often) or should it be timothy, because they do like timothy too.

This is a very difficult decision. Adult Me thinks I've earned myself a shot or two to help make it. Teenage Me would probably have already had the shots, though. Who knew hay had to be so...complicated?

A small box of Timothy for a change sounds like a good idea! Then you can mix it in with your normal stuff when the subscription arrives!

It does, but I'm limited on upstairs space. Other than where it is, I've only got my room and I vape, so I'd rather not store it in here. Downstairs could be an option though.

I've genuinely sat staring at the Happy Hay page for over an hour and I still haven't decided on hay type or box size lol.
Ooh I was going to try them for the first time next week, hoping the orchard grass will be ok for Cleo 🤞 The timothyhay.co.uk one I normally get seems to be a bit rubbish atm compared to normal so thought we’d try theirs. Hope the goblins approve too :)

i saw a piggies friend from Instagram today and she said the exact same thing, they are on a new batch apparently and it will be like this for a few months, I need to order next week but now I’m worried they will not eat it! She said it’s very stalking!

The orchard hay was the first non-timothy hay the goblins actually wanted seconds of! Til recently they'd been very much timothy hay only, thy'd eat others but with that attitude of "I hate this but it's right in front of me so I'll eat it anyway". They actually sent me a box of oat hay accidentally the last time and had the replacement box of orchard on my doorstep by the next day (plus a now free box of oat hay).

@rp1993 the goblins love their stalks, it's why I was surprised they went for the orchard, it's much softer.

Yes it’s definitely a bad batch! Normally really soft and green but this is really stalky and dusty, surprised it hasn’t set madam off! I got 24kgs and on last 8kg now, mine have eaten it but definitely not tucking in as excitedly as normal and lots more in bin. The joys of hay!:))

Aah bless the little fatties :love: Glad they got it to you so quickly then after the mistake! And always nice to get a freebie :)

Yeah I rang up, he asked me to email over photos, I did, and the new box was on its way. It's probably more trouble than its worth to try getting the "wrong" box back but he was very nice about it. Good thing they like oat hay too :xd: I could only imagine the disapproving looks I'd get from them if it was a meadow hay box lol.

21:03, and guess who still hasn't made a hay decision?

We all seem to be having ‘hay’ issues - my usual hay ( Timothy soft cut) is not available so I’ve had to go for a Timothy hay blend - just hope they like it…..

I do know Happy Hay were saying they're getting the new cut timothy soon (that was a few weeks ago and I have no idea what soon is), but their timothy has always been stalky, it's why I buy it. Cam's just a weirdo of a skinny who likes digging himself under a hay pile every so often (and scaring the hell out of me every time he does it lol) and if he's going to bury himself, as he did once again earlier today, I'd rather it was into something soft.

Teenage me got given a shot of whiskey by my mum once (long story) and she said to me afterwards, she was wondering if it's a good thing or not that nobody said anything, she poured it, handed it to me, and I knocked it straight back, THEN went, "Wait, what was that for?!"

I never did make a decision on an earlier box so now it's Today, and the payment's due on the subscription box in an hour, and I pretty much only have oat hay left (I can fix that over the weekend if I need to, thanks Asda for making my life difficult  ) I've got two boxes on subscription, one timothy and one orchard. So that makes it easier for the next month, anyway.

Now, to work out something for the weekend.
