I know that teeth chattering is a sign of agression or establishing dominance but my piggy is unfortunately my only one,due to lack of space,so I was wondering what this teeth chattering is all about..He is an indoor piggy,so he can't be feeling cold. It's not happening very often but I was wondering why he could be doing that. Any ideas? Thanks :)

It's also, I believe, a sign of nervousness, so he could be doing it if he feels unsure about something. If it is aggression, remember that animals are capable of aggression to other animals (including humans) as to their own kind. Possibly he feels that you're too close to his lettuce and is establishing that it's his?

How long have you had your new piggy?
It could be a case that he is very nervous that could be why he is doing it.

xx

I've had him for 2-3 months and he's always been very friendly and happy, that's why I was so confused when I noticed that teeth chattering. It's not happening very often though.

My very nervous piggy does that with me if she feels too nervous to get to the food bowl when I'm there...
She has never bitten me or wouldnt to be honest so its more nervous with her... She's not called Scarey McFairy for nothing rolleyes:)

i would have a look at what you are doing when he does this? Maybe moving differently which unnerves him?
