I'm quite new to this site, so I apologize if this hasn't been posted to the correct place ^^;
Sadly, one of my two boars died earlier today. It was quite sudden.
The remaining boar has been chattering and grinding his teeth ever since. He's still exploring new toys (which I offered as a distraction), eating and drinking, but I'm worried about his constant chattering. Is it a normal behavior for lonely pigs?

Hi and welcome

I am very sorry for your loss!

He is obviously still very upset and doesn't want your attention. Please leave him be and allow him to grieve; many piggies will be more withdrawn for some days. As long as he is still eating and drinking, then he is OK.

Please take the time to read this guide here. You will find it very helpful as it will talk you through the immediate aftermath as well as your medium term options: Looking After A Bereaved Guinea Pig

When you interact, use some of our piggy whispering tips to tell him that he is still a member of your group and that you love him, but give him space, if space is what he wants. Like humans, guinea pigs are individualists and react very differently to a loss.
