Dental Teeth Filed Down?

We don't tend to xray but it could be something your vet discusses with Simon. Simon is on holiday next week, so your vet would need to get in touch with him this week. If preferred he can be contacted by phone on 01604 478888

Thank you
I've noted the number and email down so will say to my vet to contact him for a second opinion/advice, will probably be going to the vets tomorrow or Thursday (depending on how Yogi is doing)

I had still had some of Yogi's medicine and I gave him some yesterday in case his gut wasnt moving well....he's ate a bit but I will be taking him back to the vets tomorrow for another tooth and ear check up because something still isnt 100% right and he is over sensitive about one of his ears being touched.

Please bear with me through my panics, I have been so stressed and bursting into tears every evening when I get home because I just want my bear to me back to his healthy and happy self and seeing him act the way he does upsets me so much :(
I think we're all the same honey. We know how good they are at hiding things & how quickly they can go downhill. You have to go with your gut feeling :/ PLEASE keep us updated.

That's great! Thank you... I will definitely do that. If its going to work better than Baytril definitely, can't say I'm a fan of Baytril at all. For abcesses would they have to xray his jaw? There was talk of doing this when he felt better but again they said they would have to do it under GA just to make sure he didnt move during it.
Baytrill really affected one of my GP's, it gave her ulcers & she couldn't tolerate it but so many vets use it as the 'Go-to' antibiotic for piggies :/

Back from another vet trip, they think there is something wrong with his ear. He had a big piece of hard wax in it and they got that out and could see blood. As he is so sensitive with this ear you can't really get a good look or anything, so they have decided they want to X-ray him. They said they will give his some gas to just calm him down and make him less stressed and see if they can see anything. There is talk of getting a specialist to take a look but as they don't know what the issue is we can't do anything till after the X-ray.

They mentioned surgery but said it would again have to be specialists and I don't even know if specialists like that are in Ireland and honestly my head is a mess right now.

For the moment he is on Baytril and metacalm :(

Yogi has his X-ray today which found the his right middle ear (the egg shaped part that amplifies the sound) is full of something. They have ruled out a tumour which is good. The three possibllities are he's producing too much liquid, it's a polyp or its full of crud which they think is the latter. It's too risky to go in and remove it but the vet seems to think that while it might be annoying a for him, it's nothing too serious. So we will just monitor him and get him xrayed every 6 months or so to keep an eye on things. He's a wee special needs piggy now as he's probably deaf in that ear, but that would never bother us, we will continue to do whatever it takes for our bear!

He's been slowly improving with his eating though we are still helping up his fibre intake with critical care but I am now hopeful that we have come to the end of this episode of sickness....it feels like we have been trapped in this ongoing crisis for weeks now.

Thank you all again for the help and advice! Would be so lost without this forum
X
