Teeth grinding

I think my pigs do this when I cuddle them, they only seem to have started doing it recently. I wasn't sure what the noise was until I felt their face and it felt like their teeth were grinding or chattering. Is this them being scared?

Depends. Most likely they are just chewing whatever they had in thier mouths when you picked them up - they generally stop while they are being lifted about. If they start again, that means they are feeling more secure.

On the other hand, if they are grinding their teeth with no food left in their mouths - which sounds a bit different - it can mean they are annoyed. Or just that they wanted to keep eating!

Your boys are probably at the stage when they feel comfortable enough with you to tell you when they are not so chuffed about being petted.

See it as a positive sign!
