Hi, sorry I'm reposting this here as I posted it in the pig welfare forum, but this is a medical issue! Sorry, I'm new so I didn't know.
I have two piggies. A girl called cookie (aged 3) and a boy called nibbles (aged 2 and a half). Recently nibbles who was born blind and deaf (we got him from RSPCA) started to dribble. We realised it was his teeth and contacted the CCT to ask about people who could cut teeth without GA. I don't think he would survive an anesthetic, he is so little due to his bad breeding.
The CCT sent us on an 8 hour round trip to Hastings to a fabulous rescue that cut nibbles teeth. A week later he started to dribble again. We were syringe feeding him as he wasn't eating well. So we went to our local vet who wanted to put him down.
With much tears we phoned the rescue in Hastings and they said they would have him and keep him, giving him weekly teeth trimmings in the hope that he would get his teeth under control.
That was a month ago. We miss him sooooo much. My question is - does anyone know of anyone closer to us in Somerset who can cut teeth without anesthetic? Perhaps then we can have him back. Thanks
