Our boy Oliver is 5 years old and I had him at the vets last week due to him starting to make head movements and something stuck in his mouth. Only 4 months ago we had to say goodbye to his brother Keiko as he had started this way and it had turned out to be elongated roots that were up to his eye socket and down to his jaw bone.
Whilst at the vets she had a look and said she could see a couple of small Spurs but was not keen to put him under anaesthetic due to his age and the fact he was still eating. I was to keep a close eye on him and there is a note on his record that if things deteriorate I don't need an appt they will book him in on the day to do an X-ray first. If its not the roots and just the teeth they will do the required dental work.
So over the weekend Oliver is eating ever so slowly now and I can see he's struggling but very interested, he ate celery this morning. He is also chattering his teeth a lot.
Am I doing the right thing taking him in today or do I wait and see but then I don't want him in pain and not eating altogether. Is this something that can pass? To be honest I know it will only get worse.
Just so scared at what will happen as he is a much loved member of our family
