You are doing a great job! My pigs are bedded on aubiose and hay in their forage areas and vetbed elsewhere. Some of my guineas have had mites and some lice, I treat where necessary. I have sourced an excellent farm half an hour from me and am happy with the quality of hay but if they get lice they get lice! Try not to stress about it ;)

Awww thanks :red

I do doubt myself when these problems arise that i cant cope with it, get a bit stressed out and although the bathing isnt going according to plan i am now feeling a bit more confident in my abilities thanks to you guys:)

They are having a bit of a clean now so i hope i have got it all off!

ANd Bigbum is popping himself out and eating hay with a bit more gusto...:)

Glad they're ok!
Don;t beat yourself up over it you;re doing a marvellous job with them.
Winston hates being shampooed, he moans and groans all the time, it is a military operation so I sympathise with you.

As I said previously my 2 have got lice at the moment, Winston's had them on and off for a few months and I;ve been shampooing him with lice n easy. When we got Beanie Beth at Brinsley animal rescue mentioned piggy potions book by peter Gurney and to use the aromatherapy option. so i;m trying that at the moment. If they need more treatment so be it but it seems to be doing the trick. They both love burying themselves in the hay too.

keep up the good work, you're doing really well and they're 3 lovely piggies who appreciate you very much

Thanks! Sorry to hear yours have lice too...

I dont know about them appreciating me at the moment though... They really hate me right now... Although they have not bitten me once which says something...:))

Question can you blend veg and syringe feed it? I am trying to get Bigbum his fluids and vit c but dont want to push lots of different syringes on him. at the moment he is getting 5-10ml of mushed pellets twice a day but he is still poorly.

Yes, veg can be blended and syringe-fed. You could buy organic baby food puree from the shop if you find that blending is not working out.
