My girl is picking up her pellets and dropping them and picking them up again and then nodding her head to eat, she eats veggies and hay fine and is her normal self. I took her to the vets the other day to get her back teeth checked, do I need to worry about her dropping the pellets? Weighing her each day aswell I noticed in two days she’s lost about 10 g?

10g loss isn’t a problem in that grand scheme of things. It’s roughly the difference between a full and empty bladder.

How is she when chewing hay and veg?

Well since last week it’s gone down roughly 50/60g but the vet said it’s normal, but past few days it seems to be going down slightly by on average 7g, she’s chewing hay and vegetables fine, the only thing she doesn’t seem to eat much are peppers she chews then spits it out. Should I be worried she’s dropping her pellets?

What did the vet say about the teeth?
if she is continually losing weight then this is an issue that needs addressing. Tagging @furryfriends (TEAS) who has the most dental experience. Where are you based?

She said they’re fine and she checked the back ones and they’re all good, watching Luna now and she’s managing to eat the pellets but it takes abit of picking it up and dropping it, I’ll write out the weights;
26/5/20 880g roughly
2/6/20 848g then I weighed each day and it was 830g then 810g.
she’s eating veggies fine, pooping normally, eating her hay and she’s managing to eat pellets but dropping them a few times before she eats.

I’ve just weighed her now and this morning she was 810g now she is 822g

you really need to weigh at the same time each day for consistency.
I have been doing roughly but I was called in to work ASAP today so didn’t manage to do it at the same time. I’ve taken some photos of her front teeth just now can you tell me if it looks normal? Sorry for the bad photos I felt awful holding her and doing it

They look pretty OK to me. You are looking for an even, white edge which generally means that they are self-sharpening and the chewing at the back is even.
Sometimes the front teeth can stand at a slight angle; then you have to take that into account. There is a tiny hook when you look from the side that is not quite as it should be.

Yeah that’s what I was wondering if that photo from the side looks normal with the teeth, she’s eating everything and she’s eating pellets but like I say she’s holding it in her mouth and dropping it a few times. Do the teeth look even?

They look to me that the sideways eating is still working but less so the forward and back.

However I am not the dental specialist on here; that is furryfriends and the reason why I have linked her in. It always deopends onhow busy she is.

Okay that’s fine, what do you mean by the forward and back eating sorry?

The incisors generally look fine, although the side view looks a little unusual. However, that is no guarantee that the back teeth are good too! How did your vet check the back teeth?
She used one of those metal mouth opener things I don’t know the name of them sorry
