Being pretty new to piggies, I'd like to ask some advice please. I've read on here about piggies needing dental work, overgrown incisors or problems with molars.

Apart from when they don't eat, is there any other indication when something is wrong with their teeth? Also, should I be getting them checked out by a vet periodically to make sure their teeth are ok? Do incisors need to be clipped on a regular basis - and if so, does piggy need GA or just sedation?

It's a good idea to weigh weekly, weight loss could indicate teeth problems. Most piggies wear their teeth down naturally and never have any problems. Dribbling and 'yawning' can also be symptoms. Eating plenty of hay is the best preventer.

Thanks for those answers. They have access to hay all the time and get through loads, so their teeth should be ok then. I do weigh them regularly and everything A-OK there too.
