OK this is going to sound a bit odd, but can guinea pigs have temper tantrums? I only ask because Hope did something really strange today and it actually scared the hell out of me!

Well I was fussing him on my lap, and I had a friend round to see me. I put Hope back in his cage for a while. And he flung himself to the floor of the cage, right on to his back and started rolling around and kicking his legs! It was really sudden and looked like a seizure or something. But as soon as I picked him up, he stopped and was back to normal again...

He's been fine all day and hasn't done anything like this before or since, and it really did worry me. I am on edge at the moment after Alphonse and an NDE for me as well recently...

Any ideas?

Strange you say this because one of mine did something similar this morning.I went into them, first thing, and Freya jumped into her bed and litterally rolled onto her back, kicked her feet then rolled over again.Never seen her do that before.i wondered if it was excitement,as they know they go in the run when they see me in the morning.

After carefully watching him like a hawk all day, I found out that what had happened was he had slipped over and couldn't get himself back up, poor little thing! I picked him up, cuddled him and he was fine, I think I was worrying that he was having seizures or a stroke or something..

My snowball does that quite often. I think they must be getting themselves nice and comfy. I also think they are happy piggies :). A bit like a dog rolling around :)). I have been wondering about it too actually.
