Hi, I am living with my mom for the summer. It gets to be mid 80s in these hotter months. We have central air but my a$$hole stepdad refuses to have the air conditioning below 77, because anything cooler makes him sneeze. My pigs live upstairs, so it’s even hotter. I can’t move them downstairs because we have a dog and the basement is very dusty. My room gets to 80 degrees tops during the day with 40% humidity (I have a hygrometer and a mercury thermometer). I’ve tried everything from trying to convince my step dad, to closing all the vents but the one in my room, putting ice packs and cooling pads down, having the fan on medium, and I can’t afford a space a/c because they cost 300+ dollars, and the window a/c has frion which has health risks. I’m worried that they get too hot because they are laying out in the open and their ears are sometimes hot. Please don’t make me feel like I’m doing something wrong because I’m a helicopter mom as is. I’m open for any kind of advice. Thanks
