Yesterday I was asked about the possibility of giving an older bereaved boar a home.
I said I would find the nearest rescue as I couldn’t take an intact boar unless there was nowhere else.
Today, walking past the local pet shop I noticed an ad in the window offering a 6 week old single boar for sale.
Now, of course, I’m thinking they could be companions, which doesn’t alter the fact there’s nowhere to put any more piggies.

Fortunately (?) my husband talks sense and reminded me I couldn’t rescue them all and we have a very happily bonded herd of 3 sows and a husboar.

I did suggest converting his shed - there was ‘a look’!
 
I hear you loud and clear.
Even before Ruby tried to eat his face, I was trying to come up with a plan to take in the boar from the neighbors.
Thankfully DH was the voice of reason and Ruby was just grumpy.
 
You are being sorely tempted. I can only imagine the look on Mr Merab’s Slave’s face when you shared with him your vision of a shed filled with piggies. I bet it took all his years of tact and diplomacy to persuade you it wasn’t going to happen.
 
Id happily have more, and particularly when my new shed arrives, that is what is going to happen. Hubby and I actually had an argument about it a couple of weeks ago. I think it’s totally out of line that he can have seven motorbikes but I’m only allowed two piggies.....he can’t ride seven bikes at once but I can definitely cuddle multiple piggies at once!

I totally agree with you! If he can have his motorbikes you can have your piggies! As he has 7 motorbikes I think its completely reasonable that you can have 7 piggies. Motorbikes cost a lot more than piggies do in terms of maintenance.:))

I haven’t met her yet, only seen photos she’s sent me. She looks adorable. Said I would let her know by the weekend (as I was going to try a rescue in Melbourne on Friday). But been thinking about her ever since and have just text her this morning that I’d love to home her and if I can come Friday.. checking my phone every few seconds for a reply!

Hubby died 21yrs ago, hence 41 piggies! Yep up to my neck in piggies and poop. and shares in my local vets,lol. be happies piggie slave out when mini-me gets her vets license (in about11years time😍.

So sorry you lost your husband x I definitely think men are the voice of reason, if I was single my house would be a zoo! Just can’t say no!
