Left Keith at the vets for his neuter op a few minutes ago. Going to be an anxious day.

But pleased with the vet - answered all my questions really well (and I had quite a few!) and I know this vet likes surgery so that is positive. And Keith is as fit as a fiddle - 9 months old and 1.1kg. The vet described him and very bright and lively - which is a polite way to describe Keith!

So my little bundle of ASBO pig is going to have the chop at about 10.30am - fingers or legs crossed for him - depending on your gender.

I'm sure he will be fine. Good luck. Keep yourself busy
I've thought about getting my boys neutered just in case something happens and I need to get a friend eg a sow lol
but not sure about the ages.
need to research I think

Best of luck! The wait is always the worst with any operation, even more so with an elective one!

Thanks for support for Keith! Vet has phoned to say all went smoothly with op and that he has come around fine. PHEW.
Picking him up at 4.30. Getting all his cage clean, F10 everywhere and then vet bed ready.

A whole new life full of opportunities awaits Keith once he has recovered and is "safe" to be around ladies, so I hope this marks the start of a whole new positive chapter in his life. Wishing him a,speedy recovery.

Little update on Keith. He is doing really well after his neuter op. The scars are super neat and clean - he has been on vet bed and that has been v good. He did drop some weight but is back to eating normally and so I think that will soon be recovered. Second wound check in the morning at vets. Vet kept him on metacam this week just to make sure he is comfortable for eating and playing. I spotted a popcorn last night so he must be feeling better!

Then have to consider next steps for Keith (after his 6 weeks) - I may have to face parting with him as I don't want a sow in my boar room so some tough decisions ahead but I want Keith to have the best option for him and that is a wifepig!

Wishing Keith a further good recovery and much happiness in the future - whatever that may bring!
