Hi, a while back I posted about my ruth's ear infection as well as lymphoma diagnosis, so far she is still alive, eating, running around, excited for veggies etc, but I do suspect she's developed a uti. She has approx only 1-2 weeks left to live according to the vets previous prediction, and recently she has started being incontinent, leaking pee, squeaking when peeing, having a very wet back end/belly and legs, and their cage has developed a weird almost fishy pee scent. There's no blood or any other persistent pain signs. I currently do not have a lot of money as I have already spent over £500 on vet bills and have not gotten much of a chance to save more, I feel extremely guilty knowing she doesn't have long left, and she will most likely have to suffer through it. Is there any way I can make her feel better? I've still got antibiotics and pain killer she's been prescribed however I won't use those without a prescription.

I am so sorry for this awful situation,, could you perhaps have an honest conversation with your vet so that they can at least give you advice regarding pain relief as even a day in pain is too long. I would hope they would be compassionate maybe a payment plan to enable her last few days/weeks are the best she can have 💐

Hi

HUGS

The fishy smell is pointing strongly towards an infection of some sort; which also could be coming from her reproductive tract (womb infection/fluid filled womb) as well as the urinary tract - I have personal experience of that.

Please contact your vet clinic for advice whether you can step in with your existing meds and an honest, but respectful how far to take her. It is always so difficult when it is down to you to call the shots. Something is clearly not right.

You should be able to book a paid phone conversation with your vet if you do not want to make the trek to the clinic and want to give antibiotics a chance.

I am so very sorry. Lymphoma can involve a suppressed immune system and suppressed healing. :(
