One of the last threads I made was one about me needing help with cages, we had 2 boars and a rabbit (who was free-range in the room) sharing an 80cm cage and three other guinea pigs in a 120cm cage.

Since then, using your brilliant advice to convince my family I have managed to make the following changes:

- We have 2 pairs in a 120cm cage each
- I managed to convince my mother that a rabbit was not a suitable companion for guinea-pigs!
- We since got another rabbit to keep Thistle company and they have the 80cm as a feeding station.

Thank you so much guys for helping me to make these changes! :D

Well done on you - and enjoy your happy pets!

Thats wonderful news. Did something happen to the fifth pig?

Sadly Muffin died in May last year :( We do still have five, the fifth (Dusty) is currently living on his own. We tried pairing him with Pip and, when this failed, he lived with Mop while Pip was on his own. Pip didn't take to the lonely life whereas, so far, Dusty seems fine. We hold him all the time. We've talked about having him neutered but we have reason to believe that he isn't, though I hate to say it, quite right in the head. He's very skinny and doesn't put on weight no matter how much he eats and we don't want to put him through the operation if he seems happy enough living as he is. Instead we are planning on neutering Pip when he's old enough, getting him a new girl and then Mop (who is spayed) will live with Dusty :)

Well done to you :)
