Lady Kelly
Senior Guinea Pig
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all your support and tips during my first week of being a guinea pig slave. I have pretty much left the girls alone for the whole week only sitting by the cage, talking to them and trying (but failing) to get them to eat from my hand.
Anyway today was the big cage cleanout, we kept the box the cage came in to use as a run (until the actual run arrives) and did as someone suggested which was to cut a side off a box (the box we brought the new house in hehe) and corner them both into that so we could pick them up without too much stress.
So they were in the large box/run and bumble stayed in the small box so I thought... no time like the present for cuddles. So had a fleece on my knee and got her out for strokes and cuddles, OH is playing fallout on the PS3 and she doesn't like the shooting but seemed to settle ok. However Bea... the more timid of the two (according to the rescue) she was easy to chase into the box and was more timid to come onto my knee BUT...
She is such a cuddle lover, once you start stroking her she just sits still and then she started chutting! x) so beautiful! She ate some celery off my knee and when she started fidgetting I got up and put her back in the run where she promptly went for a wee so I had a lucky escape there! hehe!
I think this officially means my girls are settling well and are both happy so thank you to everyone for the knowledge to help this happen
